Japanese Popstars have released a track called "Electric Poet" to celebrate their new album 'We Just Are'. Their gaining momentum with a eries of awards and favourable magazine reviews. Impressively, Mixmag proclaims that "they might also be the most exciting electronic act on the planet". Less impressively, Electric Circus say they are "One of the hottest electro acts to come out of Ireland recently" ...do a lot of hot electro acts come from Ireland? If you are a hot electro act from Ireland please e-mail me to correct my ignorance. Anyway, that has nothing to do with Japanese Popstars who are pretty fantastic. As well as Electric Poet, check out their remix of Spoon and Tong's "Gas Face" which you might of heard pop up in my Daft Monkey mix.

I know this track is all over the place but I had to post it as a big Metric fan. Its called "Help I'm Alive" and its really moody and melodic. Metric have a really simple quality sound thats quite refreshing and a joy to listen to. This one preceeds their 2009 album, currently untitled, which I cannot wait for.

And here's a blast from the past. This is the first Metric track I ever heard - via MSTRKRFT remix:

Hi just a quick one - Annie Mac's minimix podcast was pretty good last Friday (21st). Worth checking out just for Little Boot's minimix at the beginning if anything.

Now I'm going to be quite honest and admit that I've been desperately trying not to post this track. Sometimes I scare myself with my music snobbery. A few days ago I found the notion of posting a Killers track as something quite revolting. I ain't jumping on no bandwagons I said. Well, that's a ridculous line to take when you think about because, really, there is nothing wrong with jumping on bandwagons. When you like something you like. Best off enjoying it on a bandwagon in the company of others.

Enough of wagons. This is it. The Killers - Human. Remixed of course. God I wouldn't be seen posting the original.

Surkin is a young, talented French DJ who initially caught my eye with this track "Next of Kin" which popped up in the Justice set at The Warehouse Project. Todd Edwards has done a cracking remix too. Keep your eyes on this guy.
