Sounds Like: Whales

I don't think I listen to enough Moby. This track is unfortunately called Shot in the Back of the Head, but its actually quite nice to listen to. Light electro magic.

Sunday Morning: The Dodos

Mr Dodo. No longer here.

Rough Genre: Acoustic
Sounds like: La la la sunny afternoon

Another track I heard on Skins. Think this was in the 6th episode (series 3). The tracks called Walking and its one of those guitar plucky reflective tracks that are just nice. The Dodos are pretty similar to Noah and the Whale, Rogue Wave, Ra Ra Riot - that kind of thing.

Incidently, I thought I heard of these folks before and when I heard this track Red and Purple it certainly rang a bell. So I don't know if this one's been doing the rounds on the radio circuit - if it hasn't - listen up Radio Two!

A Map. Where I want to go.

Musical Mood: Relaxing
Rough Genre: Acoustic

Rogue Wave covered this Yeah Yeah Yeah's track for a romantic compilation CD called Sweetheart (full tracklist here). And I've fallen in love with it! aha...

No it is actually really good - listen:

NB. T-shirt lovers La Fraise - my favourite French t-shirt company are giving away a free "suprise t-shirt" when you buy two t-shirts from them this Spring. And here's a code for free shipping: FREESHIPMENT (valid till tomorow).

Sunday Morning: Vashti Bunyan

Looks like a lovely day for playing guitar on the steps

Musical Mood: Relaxing
Rough Genre: Folk

Heard this track in the 6th episode (series 3) of Skins. Its really pure and tranquil, just Vashti's soft vocals, a flute type instrument and some light guitar plucking. La la la la la.

Sunday Morning - Efterklang - Mirador

Efterklang pie by Heather Woods

Musical Mood: Relax
Rough Genre: Electro

Here's a beautiful track from last year. The thing that struck me about this track is that it really is like a journey. The dynamics are fanstatic; there are dips in volume, cresendos and fades all over the place. Its quite quirky but nice and soft for a Sunday morning. I think its best listened to first with the video which features some kind of bird with human legs going for a wander.

Sunday Morning: Gorillaz - Kids With Guns (Hot Chip remix)

Musical Mood: Sit down and relax with an orange
Rough Genre: Electro

I hate Sunday mornings that involve actual kids with guns, but this of course is just a song, and it has been remixed, and so we draw ever further from potential scenarios like waking up and getting shot by a 3 year-old.

This is totally different to the original. Completely chilled out, soft and relaxing.
