Musical Mood: Relaxed party, summer party, lounge jazz
Sounds Like: Palm-tree electro
Herve is a man of many side-projects and we've alreadybeen blessed with sweet rewards from his partnership with Sinden as The Count (see Beeper). I'd not heard of his other alter ego "Young Lovers" till I came across this fantastic track Love You Madly, from his forthcoming LP, posted over at Funkism. Can't wait to hear more!
Young Lovers (aka Herve) - Love You Madly.

Musical Mood: Upbeat and happy!
Rough Genre: Jazz/Soul/Electro
In an effort to interest a new generation of music fans, the Verve record label decided to open their vaults to a host of budding remixers asking them to work their magic on some classic jazz and soul tracks. The results, in my opinion vary enourmously, but Verve have released a series of compilation albums which have been fairly successful. The tracks I have here today are brilliant renditions. First up, Diplo reworks California Soul into an atmosphere building intro track. Second, possibly one of the best remixes I've heard in a long time, Felix Da Housecat sets to work on Nina Simone track Sinnerman and comes up with a mind-blowing, danceable track. I think this is probably exactly what Verve had in mind. Finally, this Archie Shepp track kicks off straight away. Great remix from Mondo Grosso.
Marlena Shaw - California Soul (Diplo's Mad Decent mix)
.
Nina Simone - Sinnerman (Felix Da Housecat's Heavenly House mix)
.
Archie Shepp - Blues For Brother George Jackson (Mondo Grosso Next Wave mix)
.

Musical Mood: Bouncy-bo-diddly
Rough Genre: Electro/Soul/Jazz
So last night was my radio debut! I did a mini (18 min) mix for Jon Bevan's Gruvi show on Manchester Student Radio (FuseFM) last night. Its sort of a fusion between the stuff on his radio show (soul, jazz, funk) and my passion - electro music. You'll find the likes of Mr Scruff and Lemon Jelly here, along with some cracking remixes (the Nina Simone one blows me away everytime). Once again, its not the most professional of mixes from myself but hopefully you can overlook a few flaws and enjoy it!? The show will be uploaded here soon and you can download the mix itself here. Once again any feedback greatly appreciated.
Tracklist:
Stickly Kev - Solid Steel Sound Museum Pt1
Booker T and the MGs - Soul Limbo
Nina Simone - Sinnerman (Felix da Housecat's Heavenly House Mix)
Mr Scruff - Kalimba
Lemon Jelly - Nice Weather For Ducks
Lemon Jelly - Homage to Patagonia (CC edit)
Air - Alpha Beta Gaga (Edit 91)
DJ Food - Turtle Soup (Wagon Christ mix)
The Beatles - Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (Streetlab remix CC edit)
Simon & Garfunkel - The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)
Tom Hardwicke - Minimix for Gruvi (360kbps)
