Ceci n'est pas une banane - eko

So these chaps are good and the notion that Somebody, Somewhere loves me certainly warms my bitter heart (listen). London band Cazals are signed to Kitsune and although genre's have increasingly blurry boundaries these days I can safely say they are indie through and through. This is one of my favourite tracks of the last month so wash your hands and be polite.

The Hundreds In The Hands. Photo by Sarah Wilmer.

Rough Genre: Dub/Pop/God I don't know
Sounds like: Changy guitar, woobly bass, a nice break from electro!

The Hundreds In The Hands - Dressed In Dresden.

And here's a sort of dub version of the track, all smoothed over into a loppy trumpet pokey light-hearted limbo dance affair:

Ape Ape thinking Ape

Rough Genre: Dub, Electro, Post-disco
Sounds like: Turning round and round, looking up at the lights

So Calvin Harris went a little bit house on us with his new single Not Alone which was pretty unexpected. But I really the like the track and the way Calvin defied a mass of greedy bloggers clamouring around trying to get their insatiable paws on his gold by ripping it from his Myspace. If you haven't heard, he popped up a slightly altered version containing frequent lyrical interruptions about his nan. Cracking. Anyhow, I assure you this Deadmau5* remix contains no grandma references. And its a glorious dubby style take on the original. Post-disco = yes!

* For those interested, the name "Deadmau5" does upset me somewhat. I've developed the habit of calling cats "maos", so as you can see, the name has brutal connotations.
