La Roux - In For The Kill (Clash The Disko Kids and Ming 'Lo-fi 1AM' remix)
0 comments Posted by Tom at 5:44 PMLa Roux's quiff quoff quaff (hair - see picture) has been hurling itself round the remixers recently and letting itself be combed in to all sorts of coiffures, but this dub-type jingo of In For The Kill is a favourite for me which suprisingly, after seeing their boy-band photo, comes from Singapore trio Clash the Disko Kids. These kids ain't learnt to spell yet but they can sure treat a La Roux song right.

Sounds Like: Absolute bliss
THIS, is one of the most absorbing, gorgeous, thirst-quenching electro tracks I have ever heard. The Classixx remix of Beni's My Love Sees You.
It is beautiful.
Beni - My Love Sees You (Classixx remix).
Also check out their remix of Guns 'N' Bombs track Riddle of Steel which featured on Gildas & Masaya's (of Kitsuné) New York mix

And here's some gold at the end of that rainbow - an orginal track from Classixx feat. Jeppe - I'll Get You. Video by The Cobrasnake.

Sounds Like: Marina and the Diamonds, Regina Spektor
Along the lines of Little Boots, in a similar vein to Marina and the Diamonds and appearing through the same double doors as Regina Spektor, Ellie Goulding has joined the long lines of soft-voiced female electro-pop acts emerging from the fruitful musical orchard that is The Internet. I hate to lump them all together but the comparisons are obvious.
So original? Maybe not but certainly worthy of a listen, at least to Starry Eyed, a catchy pop tune with a ladder to the wall of Castle Electro (I'm having a day of ridiculous metaphors - does that one even work?). And the second track, Wish I Stayed produced by Frankmusik is certainly growing on me.
If you like this kind of thing I suggest you check out Katie Dove-Dixon too.

Sounds Like: Where my ears want to be
In this beautiful adventure that is me crossing over from a predominantly indie to a predominantly electro musical landscape, I have stumbled upon something incredible.
I think I'm in love with French fashion gurus and record label Kitsuné.
Over the last few weeks I have been delightedly persuing the bountiful Kitsuné collection and finding hidden treasures everywhere. It is as if I am eating several hundred jam doughnuts and whilst greatly appreciating the outer, sugar-coated dough of each one, I am also finding myself regularly indulging in a sweet strawberry fondant centre.
Anyway, for a lot of you, I imagine you already know what Kitsuné is, and your smirking a little on the inside at my naivety. But you may not know that the next Kitsuné Maison compilation is due tomorow (digital pre-release). Here's a nice teaser mixed by JBAG:

Photo thanks go to 1D110Sorry about the lack of updates I've been shrouded in revision recently. Had my first exam of the season today and would you believe it, there was a power-cut and all the lights went out. We had to carry on mind!
I've been a little bit obssessed with these two Junior Boys tracks recently. Nice bit of revision pop.

Sounds Like: Choppy goodness
Young French DJ/Producer Surkin has cooked up some cracking remixes in his time and I thought a revist was in order.
The artist of the first track I knew nothing about, but didn't initially expect great things from the name Teki Latex who appropriately seems to be some kind of bizarre French rapper. Interesting. And God knows who "Lio" is. Anyway, the track name Les Matins De Paris (my GCSE level French tells me that's The Mornings of Paris?) sounds delightful and Surkin steers it into a glorious choppy mix.
Teki Latex feat. Lio - Les Matins De Paris (Surkin remix).
Track 2 is a bit calmer, VHS or Beta's Burn It All Down. Although a little disturbing on the lyric front you can't help but, er, sing along. Best not.
